Ford Focus 2-door
2008-09 models
2009 Top Safety Pick 2009 Ford Focus: good performance in front, side, and rear tests and optional electronic stability control
FRONTAL OFFSET TEST

OVERALL EVALUATION: Good
Structure/safety cage Injury measures Restraints/dummy kinematics
Head/neck Chest Leg/foot, left Leg/foot, right
Acceptable Good Good Good Good Good

Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.
Test details:

The Ford Focus was restyled for the 2008 model year, and the restraint system (airbags and seat belts) was modified. In addition, side airbags were made standard (they had been optional in earlier models).

Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. The driver side curtain and side thorax airbags deployed during the crash. During rebound, the dummys head contacted the side curtain airbag, which kept the head away from any stiff structure that could cause injury.

Injury measures — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

  • both the 2 door cobalt and focus get the same overall rating of "good" in this frontel offset test, but the focus does slightly better in terms of structural intergrity, in this case the roof rail and a pillar

  • There's a Focus Coupe? Now I like it even more!

  • @boogioogigoof I think they dropped the coupe for the 2011's, since it'll be the last year of this platform. But yeah, I like my coupe :D

  • '

    no no thank,,,

i dont like this ford car focus, edge, flex

  • Normally 35 to 40 mph

  • any 1 know what speed cars are moving durring these tests?

  • I like how this car looks from the side.

but the front lights look somewhat blocky, and the rear tail lights are placed too high.

  • look at the cobalts crash test, this did much better.
