Skating on Meewasin rink in Saskatoon

The Meewasin skating rink is located in downtown Saskatoon next to the Delta Bessborough in Kiwanis Park on the bank of the South Saskatchewan River. The rink was full of skaters on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 8:55 p.m. moments before the warm-up shack was closing. That's why the attendant blew his whistle to announce "Everyone out of the pool." The warning only applied to people who had shoes inside the shack or had borrowed skates. The temperature was about minus 20 degrees Celsius at the time.
