7th Irish win

Eimear Quinn - The Voice. The vinner of the Eurovision song contest 1996. Ireland.

I hear your voice on the wind
And I hear you call out my name

Listen my child you say to me
I am the voice of your history
Be not afraid - come follow me
Answer my call and I´ll set you free
I am the voice in the wind and the pouring rain
I am the voice of your hunger and pain
I am the voice that always is calling you
I am the voice and I will remain

I am the voice in the fields when the Summer´s gone
The dance of the leaves when the Autumn winds blow
N'er do I sleep throughout all the cold Winter long
I am the force that in Springtime will grow

I am the voice of the past that will always be
Filled with my sorrow and blood in my fields
I am the voice of the future
Bring me your peace, bring me your peace
And my wounds they will heal
I am the voice in the wind and the pouring rain
I am the voice of your hunger and pain
I am the voice that always is calling you
I am the voice

I am the voice of the past that will always be
I am the voice of your hunger and pain
I am the voice of the future
I am the voice
I am the voice
I am the voice
I am the voice

  • @jonafier That may very well be true. But quite frankly my ears bleed when listening to her.

Yes a song has to be original BUT a song should also fit ones voice. And as "The Voice" does not fit her voice, it's simply impossible for her to sing it in a pleasant way.

  • @1Kapuchu100 I'm pretty sure the Eurovision Song Contest requires songs to be original, which renders this the original.

  • i am the voice of your heart..........

  • Not bad.

    But nowhere near the original.

Furthermore she can't reach the high tones properly.

As i've just sit here watching the original, i can clearly say she's horrible. Her voice does NOT fit this song.

  • croatia should won that year

  • @MegaThilde Ha ha! "Norway"'s song from the previous year was actually a violin solo fron Fionnuala Sherry, who happens to be..........................yes, you've guessed it, IRISH! 5 in a row for Ireland you may say. Nevertheless, being Irish and all that, I think Ireland (oooops! sorry, Norway) should NOT have won in '95 nor in '96 either. This song "The Voice" is in my opinion a piece of shit! Maja Blagdan for Croatia was the most deserving winner and the girl for Estonia was fantastic too.

  • nice, but def. pitchy

  • It's great, it really is... But I'm afraid the performance of Celtic Woman of this song was better, as in the quality of the singer's voice. Te song will be forever amazing!

  • Six people need to get professional help

  • magical 90s ;) luv it
