The "Today" from Seattle segment is from May 1989. As with the other West Coast stops that week, I believe that "Today" taped each program 21 hours in advance. The challenge for a "live" program at 7 a.m. EDT is that it is pre-dawn (4 a.m.) on the Pacific coast. Note that there is now "cross talk" with John Palmer in the studio in New York because Mr. Palmer was the only "live" person on this broadcast. Even Willard Scott's weather segments were done 21 hours in advance (perhaps w/ updated maps)
