Cold Creek, Nevada... a 40 minute drive north from Las Vegas. The residents here have the privilege of seeing wild horses almost everyday and are very protective of their Cold Creek herd!
There are great trails to ride on and of course, the big pond to swim in afterwards. Weekends are usually packed with ATV's and dirtbikes. It's much quieter during the week and the wild horses stay closer.
We trailer our horses from LV to ride and swim here during summer.
COLD CREEK IS TRULY AWESOME!

of course horses can swim..... but i can see why you would think they cant.. its the funnest thing to do on a horse...... my horse always rears and and lunges forward

jus wonderin... is it dangerous to fall off when the horse is swimmin? jus thinking that if i do i might get kicked and that wouldent be too fun

lol, looks like fun. I luv doin that with my horse, but the fun is falling off in the water and trying to get back on in deep water!

so did mine.
the way to do it is to do this together with another horse who is already used to the water. When your horse sees nothing bad happening to the other horse, your horse will likely become more brave. Believe it or not, I started on puddles!

very observant! Yep, 4 hr ride near Cold Creek. Just cooling them off afterwards, in the lake. They were pretty hot. Didn't have to twist their arms much to get them in!
