Part 3 of my speedpainting of the Wolfman as played by Benicio Del Toro. This video is 50 minutes of painting condensed into 11.

Rather than upload the entire painting as one video, I wanted each section to act as a visual tutorial. Hopefully it's clear which tools I am using, but if not, feel free to ask questions.

  • That was incredible.

  • @Smedley60 Thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed it. There's a link to the finished painting in the video comments above. :)

  • how did u draw/paint that with such precission were u using any refferences, e.g. looking at dogs teeth in order to draw the warwolf teeth, or was ot off the top of yourhead. also i just wanted to say uve done an absolutley amazing job! looks fantastic!

  • Thank you. ^_^

I have a two screen set-up. I do the painting on one, and on the other I have a reference picture, in this instance one of the Wolfman posters.

  • thanks for the info, i was also wonderin wot type of brush u use, cos when i try it doesnt have that grainy textured look that i see in this vid, its just too smooth if that makes sense....thanks again. keep up the great vids

  • @groupjapan I made a tutorial about painting skin textures - it's uploaded in my deviantART gallery in the Tutorials section (follow the link in the video info above). You might find it useful.

I only use the default brushes, but I adjust opacity which builds up texture, and also use the 'scatter' brush for adding pores.

  • All i can say is..wow

  • I just had a look at the finished product. Exceptional. It has an almost living, wild spirit to it. I hope people realize how easy you made a very difficult process look. They vision needed to see the many layers in advance. That was really something to watch.
