When we want to get an idea of what people are thinking we take it to the streets of Cambridge, as you've probably seen in our previous videos. This time around we are asking people what they would want in place of the dollar.

  • Are people really that much more aware this time, or did you do serious editing to get this?

  • @amommamust these were all the real answers from people. I included almost all the people we talked to, only a few audio issues kept the others from appearing. :)

  • Copper.

That is a very trivial way of looking at a gold back currency. Reserach goldgrams. You can get something like a credit card and you can break gold down into milligrams if need be.

  • The dollar is not going to collapse. It is .072 oz of silver. You can still get dollars at your local coin dealer. Dollar bills or Federal Reserve Notes (a non redeemable promise to pay one lawful dollar) has already mostly collapsed at: 1FRN = .035 Dollars. But the Dollar is still strong at .072 oz of silver.

  • I have a one ounce gold coin and I buy a hamburger with it, what would I get in change? Gold is too valuable. People could do a lot of bartering, and the IRS would not care for that.

  • Today the world's currencies is only backed by a promise of the government/institutions that create the money. I would like the idea of e-credits. The question is what will back them. Humanity wants something concrete. A promise isn't concrete and a politician's word is worthless. Precious metals have been a standard throughout the world. Perhaps something like a stock. Just some random thoughts.

  • the guy who said he didn't have any gold hits the nail with the hammer. Although most people who support a gold/silver based money or backed money, never think about all the people who don't own precious metals (it is about 99.5% of people who don't) how would that effect your neighbor who doesn't own precious metals. Just think if they wanted gold or silver for food, fuel or taxes what would happen with the person who doesn't own any?

I would choose body hair, since I'm one hairy dude!

  • please do it again with more people, I cannot imagine that people are that aware this time... maybe you could ask them what is the price of an ounce of gold or silver too.

    anyways nice vid

  • The rothchilds would like a gold standard after all they are experienced in it

  • Damn, if i went around my town asking these questions like 2 people would had said gold with their dumb ass... but the guy at 2:11 ...is a dumbass...

  • Amazing! Ron Paul is truly changing the world!!!
