Is the Kodak Zi8 all that it's cracked up to be? I certainly think so. In this video I review some of the features that I love about the Zi8. If you want a more detailed review of the Kodak Zi8, visit http://nowskip.to/video where you can find samples images & more videos, plus my recommended external microphone, spare batteries, and technical information about importing Zi8 video files into Sony Vegas Movie Studio successfully.
Where'd you get this from ???????????

@realjuvelive Mike Koenigs from Traffic Geyser gave me a Zi8 :) in Las Vegas at the CarbonCopyPRO Master Marketing Event. Funny, as I had seen a Zi8 review a couple of weeks prior from another IM'er (Steve Schuitt) & thought: this is a real "Flip-killer" in terms of the features. I've just realised that the small video recording times I mention on the video are because my 16Gb card was pretty full; here are some numbers for a not-so-full 16gb card:
1080p: 2hrs 9 min
720p (60fps): 2hrs 1 min
720p (30fps): 2hrs 29min
WVGA: 4hrs 3min
(with 687MB of space used on the camera)

Thx for the times, that's helpful. Do you have a demo of how good the wvga movie quality is. The demos I've seen on YT tend to show 1080 and 720, but not the wvga.

@Halunlimited I've not used it at wvga...I only record in highest quality for maximum resolution before editing.

1) Can you use the Zi8 camera as a webcam? 2) Can you film with it connected to a laptop and record on the laptop's hard drive directly? 3) Does it only work off battery, or can you use an a/c power (i.e. if I do a tripod setup and want to record for six hours? Thanks for considering answering.

1) No - that would be really cool!
3) Yes, a/c power will work & there is a universal power supply with the right connector so you can run the camera that way. You might just about get 6 hours at 720p if you use a 32Gb SDHC card...I've just checked on my Zi8 & it tells me there is abt 2 1/2 hours left with a 16Gb (& I have a few vids/images on that card). I've not checked to see whether or not the camera stays on all the time if you have the power cable connected. If I test this, I'll feedback.
