why are they showing the jet fighters and not people sharin peace as in the sign off from the Canadian CBC

I'm pretty sure that they got the national anthem video from the US Air Force, probably in the mid 80's. A station that I used to work for used "America the Beautiful" with nice pictures from landmarks around the country ... certainly a more 'peaceful' feeling.

This SSB piece was seen here in this vid by KDLH-TV (Channel 3) and KBJR-TV (Channel 6) in Duluth, Minnesota during the 1980's.

I remember seeing it in 1983 and 1984.

Well that applies to any NTSC-M based station which all US stations use NTSC-M.

Although WSJK-TV/WETP-TV & WKOP-TV, WBBJ-TV, WSPA-TV, WESH-TV, WXYZ-TV, KFVS-TV & WDRB-TV has seen every TV Station Market/Viewing Area in the U.S. that SSB Performed on Sign Ons & Offs.

The SSB piece seen here in this vid was also used by WPTF-TV (now WRDC-TV) in Raleigh-Durham, NC during the 80's...I remember seeing it in late 1980 for the 1st time.
