  • In reading the 350th Regimental History, they were actually attacked as soon as they reached the top of the mountain with artillery from 3 sides. They dug in under fire and then began a week long siege where the regiment held off an estimated 3 Divisions of German infantry. Reports indicate both sides resorted to throwing rocks and hand to hand combat as ammo ran out. Truly one of the lost heroic moments of WWII.

  • No there isn't any roster that exists.

  • My respects Sir, as a Englishman I am suprised that this battle was not taken up by Hollywood, perhaps you proud Americans can try and get this movie released by Mr Jeff Rose, most people are unaware that this battle ever took place.

  • My Dad, Ltn. Ralph N. Grippo became an officer on the battlefield and received a Silver Star on this Mountain. Died last year at 87, never talked about his heroics. I had to read about them. This truly was the greatest generation.

  • My uncle served in The Grenadier Guards, they took over from the Americans on Monte Battaglia. He is buried in Santerno Valley, was 20 years of age atthe time. I'm looking for a copy of this movie.

  • Nice job!
