Early 1950s Pop Music: "Silver and Gold" sung by Perry Como & Fontane Sisters (Aired live, 1952)

Another example of early 1950s pop music, this time "Silver and Gold" sung by Perry Como and the Fontane Sisters on a 1952 episode of "The Perry Como Show". A catchy novelty song. If you really need to know, Perry looks uncomfortable because he had just done a really poorly-written plug for the sponsor, one so bad that I refuse to upload it on YouTube (lucky that these embarrassing plugs/ads took up a fairly small amount of the show). I have a few of my facebook friends relying on me to dig out a little variation in music and I hit You tube with 1950`s and this was the first track I played and I love it.

I was born in 1951 and I think those wonderful harmony's of the time are still there with me in a little corner, waiting to be enjoyed once again and this is a perfect example of the time happy music sung perfectly a joy to see

music today sucks, but i still have to say that this song is not memorable and is very very boring. there's no tune. there's nothing to tap my toe to even. this really sucks.
