Video shows lions killing, roaring, and mating. Shows lions attacking and killing a wildebeast. The lions roar at the end of their mating. This is a rare sight.

It shows the big cats, including the lion, white lion, white tiger, tiger, leopard, black and spotted jaguar, puma (cougar mountain lion), cheetah, snow leopard, and bobcat in a variety of activities. Video also shows the roaring and vocalizing of members of the cat family.

Both white lions and white tigers are extremely rare. The total number of white lions is unknown but the most recent count, in 2004, showed that only 30 were alive. White lions are endangered. The ones shown are Siegfried and Roys White Lions of Timbavati. It shows fighting, attack, stalking, hunting, roaring, playing, and female and male mating behavior.

What is the largest of all cats?

The Amur Tiger shown here is the largest and most powerful of the cats. It is also known as the Siberian Tiger (Panthera ligris altaica).

What are the big cats?

The term, big cat distinguishes large cat species from smaller ones. A general definition of big cat includes the four species of cat in the genus Panthera: the lion, tiger, leopard, and jaguar. They are the only cats able to roar.

Another definition also includes the cheetah, snow leopard, clouded leopard, and cougar. The roaring cats may be distinguished from the other big cats by referring to them as the "great cats".

Three of the four largest cats are members of the genus Panthera; the cougar or puma or mountain lion, is the fourth largest cat, and it exceeds the leopard in size.

The video shows the lion (Panthera ligris altaica), tiger (Panthera tigris), leopard (Panthera pardus), black and spotted jaguar (Panthera onca), cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus), white lion, white tiger, puma (cougar, mountain lion, catamount) (Puma concolor), snow leopard (Panthera uncia or Uncia uncia), and bobcat bob cat (Lynx rufus) . Although the lion is noted for its golden brown color, under certain lighting conditions, the adult lion has spots, as do many other cats, as shown.

***White lions have never been common in the wild. They first came to public attention in the 1970s in Chris McBride's book The White Lions of Timbavati. White cubs sometimes appear among tawny lions in the Timbavati and Kruger National Park regions. Because the gene is recessive and is masked by the normal tawny color, white lions remain rare in the wild and only occur when two lions carrying the mutant gene are mated together. White lions arent albino: the white color is caused by a recessive gene. Their color can vary from blonde through to near white, and some can also be red. They have a distinct disadvantage in nature because of their visability highly visible.

White tigers with dark stripes are found in the Bengal Tiger subspecies, also called the Royal Bengal or Indian tiger, (Panthera tigris tigris or P. t. bengalensis). This coloration may also have occurred in captive Siberian Tigers (Panthera tigris altaica), and may have been reported hin several other subspecies. White fur is most closely associated with the Bengal, or Indian subspecies. Currently, several hundred captive white tigers exist worldwide with about 100 of them in India. Todays population includes both pure Bengals and hybrid BengalSiberians, but it is uncertain whether the recessive gene for white came only from Bengals, or from any of the Siberian ancestors.

The wildebeest (wildebeest, wildebeests or wildebai) (Connochaetes gnou, also called the gnu, is an antelope - a hooved (ungulate) and mammal belonging to the Bovidae family, which includes cattle, goats, and other even-toed horned ungulates. Connochaetes includes two African species, the Black Wildebeest, or white-tailed gnu (Connochaetes gnou), and the Blue Wildebeest, or brindled gnu (Connochaetes taurinus)., both native to Africa.

  • sounds like you dubbed in a few meows from a little house cat for the cougar instead of how they really sound

  • @bhindthosegreeneyes Didn't dub anything in. That is one of their sounds.

  • oh do they actually meow like that? I had no idea.I always thought they growled.

  • @bhindthosegreeneyes The big cat group includes the four species of cat in the genus Panthera: the lion, tiger, leopard, and jaguar. They are the only cats able to roar. This is one sound we recorded from the cougar. Cougars may make other sounds.

  • you got your info wrong. in the description it says The video shows the lion (Panthera tigris), tiger (Panthera ligris altaica),

    the lion is panthera leo

and the tiger is panthera tigris not ligris
