The price now is 5000 Thai Baht per person. If you are coming from Chiang Mai and want to take the ferry you will need to spend an evening in a hotel, taxi transfers, ferry and food which cost the same or more as the flight. If you fly to Phi Phi you get off the plane at Phuket airport and onto the sea plane, no hassles.
