Are you using a geared hydro pump?
I've been told that it couldn't be done
by a hydro expert.

I'm using a variable piston pump. Since it's variable displacement, this allows me to spin the pump at a constant speed but vary the drive output over a very wide range of RPM. This type of transmission came off an old Bolins riding mower (this is a brand new one though). The pump and motor are combined in one unit. The advantage is that the pump only pumps fluid when I tell it to. The tranmission is an eaton model 11 hydrostatic. You can find the manual on eatons website.

The engine is sucking in 2.5 pounds of air per second. At sea level here in Charleston, that is 30 cubic feet of air per second. This engine could suck all the air out of a 12 x12 foot room 8 feet high in less than a minute! The engine sucks in so much air, you can see it suck in and recirculate the exhaust smoke on startup in the other videos.
