The people of Udmurtia are known as The People of the Woods. Animistic beliefs still are a major part of the lives of the Udmurts. This Russian republic is a large harvest field, but the workers are very few. Please pray and give so that more may go to these lost, hungry people.

What arrogance!!!  It disgusts me to watch the blatant and willful destruction of a spiritual culture by people who "claim" to care, simply because they don't believe in the same gods. What can I do to help the Udmurt people maintain their hold in what they believe?

So, did anyone notice how the first minutes and ten seconds or so depicted the Udmurt people and then with in one statement, completely changes stance? Not only that, but the vices it list, depression, suicide, and alcoholism, are all symptoms of culture/identify degradation. Which, as we know is caused my the negative incursion of other hostile cultures *cough*Christianity*cough*. Talk about being part of the problem.

We finns were christened and conquered at the same time by those goddamn swedish crusaders so many long centuries ago, and no we have probably the worst national self-esteem in the whole Europe! I sincerely hope that our Udmurt brothers and sisters could preserve what we have lost: ones traditional culture and pride of being who you are.

Oh yeah, depression and hopelessness are never found in Christian communities! lol What bullsh*t! Why are Russian authorities allowing these missionaries in the country? Hell, I'm sure the Orthodox church isn't too happy about that either.
