Kitty kitty looks sleepy.
They're both beautiful.

Servals hiss for a variety of reasons, not just aggression. This serval was using it to get attention, so it could get more petting.

i like how it hissed at you and then it lets you pet it some more
-

What kind of permit do you need to own servals? I'm interested in getting some exotic pets when I finish my biology degree, but I can't find any info on how to get proper licensing.

Each state is different. Some states won't let you own them at all. What state are you in?

Is your serval snoring while you pet him? (My cat snores, so I was wondering...)
As for the hiss...when they do it from anger, do they flatten their ears all the way back like a housecat? Is that how you tell?

Not really snoring but a kink of purr and yes they always hiss you I have to read body laungage.

Has your servals ever bite you? I hear that they are a dangerous pet and very unpredictable.

Only when I push them too far. Just like a house cat will bite when you piss them off. They are animals so it is up to us to know their personality and what they can tolerate...
