The U.S. space program answered the Soviet challenge with Project Mercury's seven astronauts and Alan Shepard's sub-orbital flight, May 5, 1961.

ALL you have to do is look at the LRO photo's to see the evidence of the six Apollo landings and most of the lunar probes, such as Surveyor-3. which is my last point. the Apollo 12 retrieval of the Surveyor-3 camera and soil scoop, which is currently on display at the NASM. go see it.

this time Goddard brought the newest LCROSS LRO down from a 50 km orbit to a 13km orbit to take photo's at .025 meter resolution. go look at any of the 6 landing sites just photographed and face the truth. there's your PROOF.

@xvoy2002 This flight was a suborbital actually. The first two Mercury flights were. They used Redstone rockets. The third flight was with an Atlas rocket and put John Glenn in orbit. But it is pretty amazing how the astronauts had the guts to get in those cans and be blasted into space!!!!

I can't believe some people have shit for brains and don't believe we landed on the moon. You can see the landing sights at any observatory with a high powered telescope. It is just ignorance that leads people to believe idiotic things like this. Way to not believe in your own country guys. And for those of you who don't believe we went the first time, we are going back in 2020, so there will be no misunderstanding that America has been and will again be the first nation to land on the moon.
