In May the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency held a public hearing in Charleston W.Va., which focused on the future of surface mining in Appalachia.
Coal supporters turned out in force to tell EPA how important coal mining is to the economic well-being of Appalachia and emphasize the need to ensure coal remains an important part of the region's future.
@dieselducy that is for sure I live next to the train track and my nephew is a engineer for CSX, my dad worked on the railroad when it was L&N so Coal and the railroad plays hand in hand.

I am a FRIEND of coal!!! My job depends on coal (train conductor) if it wasn't for coal, there would be alot of railroad jobs lost as well. COAL IS GOOD FOR EVERYONE!!
