  • What's better (in your opinion)?

Mark V with Closed back 2x12 or Mark V combo (open back)

  • @PetieFr Head with the rectifier 2x12. All day long!

  • Thanks dude for the demo. With such a complicated and yet versatile amp, it's nice to have something like this to give a better picture. Right now I'm deciding on a long term, go-to amp (preferably a half stack) and I've been having lots of trouble picking one out. I like this (or the Mark V head, rather) a lot for hard rock and bluesy stuff, but can I get good jazz tones out of this thing? Thanks for the help.

  • @MrJoelj10 You would have no problem getting warm, clean jazz tones with this amp. I would use 'fat clean' in channel one, and use the graphic eq to dial it in exactly how you want.

  • .......The clean tone is so... perfect! Thanks for putting together this demo, I certainly will upgrade to THIS when I can afford too!

  • @Instrumentofgaia You're very welcome. Thanks for watching!

  • Great Demo, I usually hate demos because of the playing, but you did a great jon. I just put a deposit down for the express 5:50, couldnt quite afford a Mark V,

  • @PetieFr I've owned the combo, and trust me it kills... but the low end bass response in the heavy modes (especially with the V shape post EQ) is UNREAL in the closed back 2x12.

  • how much does it cost?

  • the first amp i hear that is much more versatile then my VH-4 Diesel

  • I've enjoyes playing a bunch of tube amps of friends and in stores, and I tell you. The tone of the Mark V has simply been ingrained in my head! Every time I try one, it sounds like gold! Can't wait to get one for myself!

  • @haggertysmusic There's no limitation in getting the combo and when necessary unplug the factory speaker and plug a closed 2x12 cab. The price differences is only $200 and it gives versatility! I'm planning to do that

  • turn it up,,,,that's when you can hear the different settings
