Shirin Ebadi, Iranian lawyer, Human Rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize 2003 was today in the European Council at the COHOM - Human Rights Committee - meeting in presence of Riina Kionka, Personal Representative for Human Rights of the High Representative for the EU's CFSP Javier Solana.

In her statement she called the European Union to be more active in Iran regarding the Human Rights situation in her country. She urged the European Union to ask Iran to hold the violence and the killing and arrests of people. If Iran refuses to do that and the violence continues she urged the EU to ask its governments to recall their ambassadors from Iran with immediate effect.

  • Ms. Ebadi, Thank you for risking your life every day and defending our rights. I promise to never forget.

  • Europe is too weak to do anything

  • Sheerin lives in LaLa Land!

Mullahs wouldn't give a fack about anything! Those actions been done and have had fack all effect

  • It is vital that the democratic and freedom loving peoples of Europe show their support for the Iranian protesters....especially as we are in a similar position.

Our supreme commission leaders also refused to listen to OUR democratic voices regarding the Lisbon treaty/constitution.

Yes to democracy and the will of the people !

No to the attempted Lisbon putsch !

  • guess this Iranian lawyer / human rights activist would not support the US plan of Obama & State Department to invite Iranians to our Independence Day Fourth of July parties
