2008 Bruzzy Westheimer Presentation Competition 2nd Place Team Howey Wu Chou

Here is the 2008 Annual Michael F. Price College of Business Bruzzy Westheimer Presentation Competition award winning 2nd place team of Henry Ellison Howey Jr., Cying Wu, and Johnny Chou. Proposal: Creating the BWLA (Bruzzy Westheimer Leadership Academy). In this presentation we made an argument for the creation of an exciting new program that focuses on creating servant leaders for the 21st century. As a Price student, this was the culminating event of my Price College of Business career. Taking all of the technical information I garnered through classes and creating a doable program that could be implemented for the future students of Price gave me intense joy. I worked this project for over 4 months, researching prestigious business colleges around the world and analyzing what made them successful at producing high quality graduates business leaders. Schools like Harvard, Tufts, Wharton, and Stanford had already developed similar programs for their students. Not only did we win $2100.00 as a prize for 13 minutes of speaking, but we had the opportunity to meet with the Dean Evans of Price College of Business, Mr. Bruzzy Westheimer, and other leaders who decided to take our proposal and apply it towards the future creation of the program. This clearly was a dream fulfilled. Working with Cying Wu and Johnny Chou was so amazing. Truly our hard work paid off. Thank you Cying and Johnny. We were the best. We would like to thank Dr. Chris Howard, President of Hampden-Sydney College for the immense help in the thought process for this proposal. Your leadership was crucial and we cannot begin to repay you. Mr. David Williams, M.H.R. for the coaching and development of our presentation skills. You are truly the best. Wow! Note: The Bruzzy Westheimer Presentation Competition is the annual competition in November at the University of Oklahoma's Michael F. Price College of Business. Bruzzy Westheimer is the President & CEO of the Jerome Westheimer Family Foundation and long-time Price College board member, sponsors the event and serves as one of the judges. Only 15 teams of 3 people can enter, undergraduates and graduates business students and you are graded on your speaking, and presentation skills. The 1st place prize is $4200, 2nd place prize is $2100, and 3rd place prize is $1500, the remaining teams all get $300 each. We would like to thank Mr. Bruzzy Westheimer for the opportunity to serve and learn skills for today's communication-intensive workplace. This year was so competitive, our team missed 1st place by only 3 points! Argh!!! LOL!! Now the competition is even better!!!!!!
