This tutorial talks about Lee Filters.
First I describe the product, then I show you how it assembles.
Finally I show you weather or not the Hitech Filters are compatible.

  • Informative video. I went with the Cokin Z but looked at the Lee. Both hard to get now but someone offered to sell me an extra holder so I got it. I dont think the holder one gets is a huge deal. The filters are what matters. I just ordered the hitech as well. From what I read they are a good middle ground between the cheap Cokin and expensive lee. This video is old so I'm sure you used the filters. How did you like them? How is the Lee holder working? Only things I didn't like about the le

  • @Uscbryan949 Hello, Sorry for the delay, I was traveling in British Columbia, and did not look at my w mail.

I love the filters, I do not however use them as much as i would like. I find that the Nd filters are a must to get some slow shutter speed effects, but I find that the ND grads and the Color filters are not as useful a i would have imagined. The reason is that I shoot in Raw mode and I find that I can do more when I process in camera Raw (photoshop).

  • part 2 setting up these filters can be time consuming. I find that Camera raw permits me to do do more with less experimentation. This does not mean that i do not use them if I have the time and that the conditions are such that it will save me some post processing time. I love my Hitech ND Filters they do a great job. My Lee filters thought seam to be better built and feel very professional. I hope this answers your questions.

  • Great video. Would you say that the Cokin Z pro filters would fit in the Lee Holder?

    Thanks

  • Hello Jono5661 Sorry for the delay, I Do not own any Cokin filters because although they are less expensive, they apparently have a magenta color cast. I do not know if they fit but lee filters are 4 by 6 inches and Cokin are 100 mm by 150 mm basically the same thing but I cannot confirm that they fit.

The best thing would be to go in a store and compare the two filters to be sure.

  • Yes, this was the 100 mm filter. If you have any wide angle lenses, you have no choice to get 100 mm if you want it to fit. good luck

  • Excellent video, thanks for sharing... nice photos, too!

  • Many thanks. That's answered most of my queries regarding the Lee filetr holder and HiTech folters.

    A well made informative video.

  • @pascs1977 Thanks anyway, opted out for a B+W 106ND instead because of the colour cast and bad quality people had said about the Cokin grads..

  • Thanks Man!
