Railroad torpedos were used for various reasons on the railroads. They were ran over by the train to give a signal.

  • @farmall51 They would put them on the rails to warn trains to stop. Like if they were shoveing cars in a track and they heard it they would know its far enough to stop. And in emergencies if you ran over them you need to stop. Back before the radio days.
