@AdeoF The very word Spain directly comes from Hispania. So the name that Romans gave them stick and named all the Peninsula. Portugal is Spain. Spain is in Spain the political entendy match its actual geographical word. But for terms of political correctness than anything else when you name the two you name Iberia. But many historicans still say as it was Spain. In Medieval Times when the state spain wasnt even formed.All that was controled by Christians was named Spain!

Spain was the name for all Iberia and makes more sense calling it that then Iberia since Iberians didnt even seet foot on areas currently occupied by most Spain and Portugal. So Portugal is also part of Spain we always have been conected to each other in tradition and spirit. The rule of current states is overated in comparation with comom ancestors and unity.
