As a former Combat Engineer,

Before you should join.

You should know that Combat Engineers are basically Infantry that do a specialized support role for the Infantry.

If you don't want to be a grunt,

Find another MOS.

Still proud of being a Combat Engineer

@VBH8888 I most likely will because Combat Engineer is a more open job. If not then I'll just go for something in Infantry.

@Tylorolson Well I hope you get Combat Engineer cause in the USMC you cant pick a job only job field so chances of getting engineer are 1/5 or so may be more depending how many jobs in the field.

@smellmyclock Ok so I try respecting your opinion and yet again you criticize. I'll be the mature one about this and drop the subject. Once again I didn't compare a DI to a DS. You need to learn to chill out and respect before you join the Army otherwise you're going to have a harder time. You're just disrespectful. @smellmyclock You obviously don't respect the Marines because you have nothing positive to say about the Marine Corps. I'm nt holding you against your opinion of the Army. I respect the Army just as much as the Marine Corps, they both keep America's Freedom. I'm just giving you a hard time and giving you some insights of the Marine Corps. You go ahead and fulfill your dream of joining the Army and I will too with the Marines don't let any one talk you out of your dream. Sorry if I offended you.

@smellmyclock Obviously you do because you wrote me back. I'm not trying to put competition between the two branches. You're just being cocky, you're M-mature it says it in your name......you know what you will fit right in with the Army, but if you joined the Marines they'd fix you up in one day.
