@oc00011 I met a couple from Kiel once who'd arrived with nothing, lived in a Camper van for 5 years in the middle of no where, worked 7 days a week and then bought a flat outright, kept working 7 days a week to one day buy a house and said that if they'd made those kinda sacrifices back home they'd be in a bloody mansion by now. Good luck!
@barnbersonol fair enough. i don't plan on living there bcoz i'm a working musician & making a living from it even in the most ideal places (london, NY, & berlin) is very difficult. anyway, i'll be going to taragona & barcelona too (generally backpacking the south coast) & not sure where the best cheap music/social/beach/chill-out scenes are...? i'm also just beginning to learn the most basic spanish.
@oc00011 I was in Taragona, just below Barcelona. I was with my girlfriend, working in low paid tourism/factory work living in a tiny flat. We loved the lifestyle the people and the absence of winter - tho 30C every day for 4 months solid is tiresome - but we realised that we could never earn enough to properly settle ( mortgage, kids etc). Competition for professional jobs is so brutal that if you're not fluent to native standard (Spanish AND Cat) you've no chance.
@barnbersonol yeh its made to seem like evry1 goes to play golf & drink cocktails after their day's work, which is obviously bullshit. but still, it doesn't mean that its "miserable", surely? if u got stress from financial concerns, u work long hours & hav a low income, can u not still meet good people & enjoy life a little? i hear wonderful things about andalucia, i'm going there soon for the 1st time (& with very little money). were u in that part of spain? any good tips for me? :P
don't believe this "wonderful life" crap! I lived in Spain for a year and wages are pitiful. if you haven't family to support you or an external income source, even if speak the language, life is pretty miserable.
This retarded & resentful white-hating nonwhite "Latin" American troll pretending to be a "redneck" already knows very well that Spaniards are white, and that millions of his fellow Indio peepz go to Europe, including Spain, seeking jobs
