Two members of The Royal British Legion Extreme Human Flight Team, Jump4Heroes, have been wingsuit proximity flying at Mount Brento in Northern Italy to raise awareness for the Legion.

Extreme wingsuit flyers and BASE jumpers Major Alastair Macartney and Sergeant Deane 'Smudge' Smith flew just inches from the cliff face for over a minute before deploying their Poppy BASE jumping canopies to land safely. They are both currently serving in Afghanistan.

Video edited and produced by Tim Gardiner. Please support his great work. http://www.timdgardiner.com/ Thanks also to The Look.

Filmed with both the GoPro HD Helmet Hero and Drift Innovation HD170.

Check out http://www.jump4heroes.com for more information on what the team get up to.

  • keep watching it everyday

  • @looping726 Awesome. Glad you like it so much. Feel free to check out some of the others on our channel as well. Thanks for the support.

  • this is great guys..but why do you need to fly so close to the mountains..this very dangerous !!

  • @JordanianPride80 It is dangerous. But we train for this and only do it in the right conditions. The closer you get, the more you really feel the sensation of the speed and the more fun it is. Glad you like it.

  • Amazing!! although I think I understand what someone said prior about the music, .....it is great BUT since non of us have actually flown before...lol...never thought i would say that!! anyway, since we have never experienced it in its entirety, as y'all have, we would LOVE to be able to HEAR, what you hear the SPEED and the wind!! Atleast for me, I would, it just makes it EVEN more incredible....if that is Possible;-) Thank you for making this....LOVE IT!!! Keep flying high......

  • @1maripaul Thanks for the comment. Interesting about the sounds. We hand't thought of it like that- maybe we'll get something going in that form in our next wing suiting video. We're planning to shoot something in the next couple of months so we'll definitely consider that when editing. Thanks for the idea and for the support.

  • @Paolorv0168 i dont think we have wingsuit base jumping here but we do have sky diving though..that's the closes that we can have..

  • @Paolorv0168 I think there is some skydiving there. Google it. I hope it works out.

  • @kokalti While hangl gliding is unpowered, it's still using some form of machinary.

I'm not convinced that it's true human flight. To me, it seems that wingsuit flying like this is the closest to it.

  • @strings29tata Me too! if ever you get some info of this being in the Philippines please mail me in this account!

  • @jump4heroes No, Hang gliding is the closest thing. This is falling in style.

  • @strings29tata Well, it's never too late. Maybe start with making a skydive and take it from there. Good luck.

  • @jump4heroes i can see how fun it was..only given the chance, i would have done the same..for me the closest thing now is just watching you guys fly.. ^_^

  • @strings29tata It was soooo much fun to film this video. It's amazing being there, flying. Probably the closest thing to real human flight that there can be. Thanks for your support.

  • @jump4heroes how long does it take to suit up?

  • @nilsiboy001 you don't like the music ??? really ? =O

  • @nilsiboy001 Sorry you felt that. We thought the music went really well with this video. Please check out some of our other videos as we have a range of different music on them.

  • the vid.is great but i disliked it because of the music...

  • @flyfrets The 2 guys you see in this video have just returned from Afghanistan. They faired pretty well out there. Wingsuit flying like this is simply amazing. Words can't describe it. Thanks for the support.

  • @bembiroll Great. Glad you like it. Thanks for the support.

  • @01marth Nice. Great job.

  • @AgentGhost The ground bites. It looks great to do this but a simple mistake can be catastrophic. Caution should be urged at every point.

  • top vid, don't think its child's play though!! Only done 200 skydives, no wings, so can only imagine what that must be like!! Wonder what the the test pilots and jeb would be like in a fox hole in Afghanistan?! Sorry that's not fair on the 3 base jumpers mentioned in a previous comment. i just find some comments rather odd. Thats freedom i guess. Keep safe, keep the vids coming, blue skies.
