Part of N&S was filmed there. This was David Carriadine's character Justin Lamont's plantation. Patrick Swyze's plantation (Mont Royal) was actually Boone Hall Plantation in SC for outside shots.

Serene,lovely and sad. What rich stories this place could tell. I'd bet,that it was not always so slow and serene. It must have been full of life and movement at one time...with the comings and goings of the nearby Natchez Trace, along with family,and the daily movings of a working plantation. How hauntingly silent it must feel in its presence... with the sweet and lonely essence of those from times past.
It also seems to represent life, as being but a mystery... Contemplatingly lovely place.

Not "Forest Gump" but the Civil War Mini Series, "North & South" was filmed at Greenwood.
