THE DIXIELAND JUG BLOWERS play "Banjoreno," recorded 12-10-1926.

"Banjoreno" is probably best known / unknown for being the "jug band" music behind the Terry Gilliam animation "Brian Islam and Brucie." So many people ask about this song, that I'm surprised it hasn't made it to YouTube yet. Well, it has now! Recording information is in the video. Enjoy!

(Okay. Since the Credenza is going to be down for a while... I thought I'd upload some "electrically" recorded videos! These are some of my rarer records that I don't have the heart to put a steel needle to. Enjoy! )

  • @1926VictorCredenza wow I turn 19 in july, 20 years , wow, you must have quite the collection, I just have 2 stacks of LP's some colored 33 &45 vinyl, only a couple of 78's

  • @cumulo25 That I do. I'm 33, and have been at it since I was 5.

If record collecting makes you happy, then it's all worth it! Keep it up.

  • @1926VictorCredenza I do have a nice amount of records, but my hobby is music and animation. but i listen to a variety of music, from this to jimi hendrix to benny goodman to peter gabriel. but alot of new new stuff is pure corporate excrement, and it's awful.

  • @cumulo25 Oh ho ho! I'm a club / radio DJ, and you don't have to tell me that twice! Some of this new crap makes me want to wretch!

  • Jean Shepherd, the master raconteur of WOR radio in NY in the 1950s and 1960s played this all the time. Man, where's Shep when you need him?

  • Since this song is so old will it be copyright-free by now. Because I do animations myself and might want to use this song including publish things.

  • One of my all time favorite pieces of music.

Many, many thanks for posting this!
