  • First off it aint a mountain it is just a hill LOL and the turn has a name. It is referred to as Rakin's Turn in reference to a family name that lived near the turn some many years ago.

  • first time I went up it,in the '80s,I lost the road-looked like it just ended and I was gonna fly into space. then I looked out of the passenger window and found it again.

  • I take it you did not have a trailer on or did you

  • Yes,actually I did-a 48' spread axle flatbed with a load of steel coils.

  • Flatlander! 1234z is right, we don't have mountains. Them there are hills! This one isn't nearly as bad as a couple of the ones on Robert's Ridge or Round Bottom Hill!

  • That just about sums it up otherdog59

  • I used to live in Moundsville so, I know the turn well. 250 has a lot of curvy turns and up and down hills
