A short clip showing, why a combination of 3D shutter glasses and a LCD monitor is problematic. Both shutter glasses and LCDs use linear polarizers and liquid crystals as light valve. However if the light leaving the LCD is polarized perpendicular to the shutter glasses entry polarizer, almost no light will pass. Since there is no strict standard defning in which plane shutter glasses and LCDs are to be manufactured, not every combination of shutter glasses and LCD will deliver a satifactory result.
