Racing the 60CI Mercury Mark 75. Even though we crossed the finish line fifth we won the heat since the first four jumped the clock.

  • We did not have a GPS and this was the first time we ran this engine. We estimate the top end was about 95 MPH since we were able to stay with the OMC's. We could not keep it wide open since we find the bottom width of 37" is to small. you can see how it was chine walking. We only were able to hold 1/2 throttle on the straights.

  • What speeds are you doing here?

  • We did not have a tach on the engine but I believe we were in the high 7000's range. As stated below the boat was to narrow and Rick could not hold it WOT due to chine walking.

  • Sounds like fun. What RPM do you see out of the 60-six? Can pick your sound out in a crowd.
