@liekeistofjes The Catholic Church in all its 2,000 years of existence has never done a thing wrong!!! It is the one true Apostolic Church that Christ himself founded, obviously we are not all meant to be Saints. By you have no right to condemn the whole Catholic religion and all Catholic priests because of the actions of some terrible people who said they were priests.

We all know that Catholicism is a dying religion in Developed World. Atheists, along with Protestants, Muslims, and Jews, took pride of attacking them, and the college students who were "raised in Catholic" will describe themselves like martyrs and victims of Pedophiles.

Now the Papal Church can only control those banana republics like Philippine and Nicaragua, and try to look for more followers outside Europe. Let's see what is going to happen next.

@Efrasios To say that the culprits are merely "a small number of priests" ignores the fact that the coverups of these incidents were carried out in an institutional manner as official policy by the church hierarchy.

The scandal isn't just the pedophiles but the institutional cover up

Every priest or follower of the church certainly isn't to blame (indeed to blame the followers would be absurd as they're the ones victimized) the church itself however, as an organisation, is.

@liekeistofjes You seem to have forgotten that the Roman Catholic church is the largest religion in the world, more than 1 billion members, therefore of course there will be many wrong doers and people who hide behind their religion as we are all sinners. And yes many did do it however in the larger picture its unfair to blaim all the Clergy and nuns for what is in number although shocking a small amount compared to the world wide number of priests.

@Efrasios Very few???!! Ten thousands of children were verbally, physically and sexually abused when they were in the care of the catholic church. Not only priests, but also nuns abused children!

what you have to remember is that these pedophile priests are not real priests, they are pedophiles who became priests to get the trust of young people, just like they infilarate schools, young offenders institutions, childrens homes, just about any way they can find a way to gain trust of people and children

This is terrible but please remember that not all Catholic priests are like this and the majority of Catholics were shocked by the scandals, its not the Church that did it, its disgusting people who used to Church to achieve their disgusting desires. Don't judge all Priests on the actions of very few who weren't "priests"
