My friends Nandi and Falguna welcomed their second child into this world recently and this video was shot 11 days after birth at the ceremony where a Hindu priest, consulting the babies astrological charts on its day of birth, gives a name representing that information. The birth name was Yesika, a Nepali name not related to the American name Jessica, and the priest gave the name Prasna. To learn more about this community of Bhutanese Refugees settled in Seattle, watch this longer video I made about their journey from the refugee camp they lived in in Nepal for 18 years to their new lives here in Seattle's Rainier Valley. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9Mhb6DBo2c

It's really amazing that you lived in Nepal for a year or so. That's great! Did you live there for learning experiences and such? Was it a project? I love your Nepal 2009 videos, thank you for sharing them. I miss Nepal so much after watching them. Namaste!

Wow Len, you always have the coolest videos! Most people would never ever get a chance to see this kind of ritual if you hadn't befriended the family and shown the world what beauty it has to offer. What a beautiful event to be a part of. You, and they, must be so happy with this video. It's great to have such an open minded man like yourself showing the world how all very similar we are: we all care about our family and we all love to have a nice party for something like this. Rock on!
