This was from a concert in 2001 where Gavrilov was supposed to play one of the Rachmaninov concertos, but the conductor fell very ill and there was apparently no replacement. So Gavrilov was asked to prepare a solo recital in less than a day's notice. I think we should give him credit for even playing this well, considering he was on a concert tour and hadn't practiced any solo pieces for a month. This is not indicative of a typical Gavrilov performance, and he shouldn't be judged on this.

grande gavrilov!la resa del brano e' squisitamente personale..e lascia immaginare meglio di altre interpretazioni ( valentina lisica) gli intenti di raveli di raffigurare i' dispetti'del folletto scarbo!splendido davvero!

Sorry, what is he doing? I hardly can follow melody or beat at all. I am feeling sorry for pianist as I am listening. He obviously doesn't able to play this song. Because he lacks technique very miserably. That is without question from this play. Sorry, wrong English, but my opinion.
