The first nine and a half minutes to the PS2's first Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy X. Includes the opening FMV. "Otherworld" by the Black Mages is the track playing during the FMV and is performed by Japanese group The Black Mages. The track is available on Disc 1 of the Final Fantasy X OST. The track which plays at the prologue to the game is "To Zanarkand" and is also available on the Final Fantasy X OST.

A piano version of "To Zanarkand" is available on the Final Fantasy X - Piano Collections album, and an orchestral version from the Final Fantasy Orchestra album from the recording at the Final Fantasy concert in LA in 2005.

During Tidus' fan signing the track playing is the specially made "Prelude" from Disc 1 of the Final Fantasy X OST, one of the most radical remixes of the Final Fantasy prelude tune. Playing during the scene when Tidus looks up towards his father, Jecht, is "Tidus' Theme" also from Disc 1 of the Final Fantasy X OST.

  • this is on the pcsx2 emu?

if so how do you get the FMV scenes to run so smooth?

i try and mine are a mess

  • @silkyj0hns0n If you send me your computer specifications in a private message/e-mail to my account, I'll be able to help you a little better.

For now though, just make sure the EE cycle rate in the speed hacks is not set to above 1.5 times.

  • Mind if I ask for the specs of your rig? I've wanted to give PS2 emulation a try for the longest time, but it has always been incredibly strenuous on both processor and memory.

  • @CaptCouch My desktop is CPU: E8400 @ 3GHz | GPU: 9800 GTX 512 MB | RAM: 2 GB @ 800 MHz (x86 Windows)

    My laptop is CPU: i5 450M @2.4 GHz | GPU: 325M 1 GB RAM | RAM: 4 GB (3 GB usable, x86 Windows)

Both can run FF X in PCSX2. The desktop can run more games smoothly than my laptop though (e.g. SOTC). I run PCSX2 on my laptop at lower resolution as well (640x640 compared to 1280x1280).
