We ventured to Fort Morgan today after reports of tarballs hoping the reports were wrong. We spotted dolphins, herons and sealife but unfortunately also spotted tarballs. Many clean-up crews were on-site and the preventative measures were still being implemented like the fencing, sand berms and booms. The weather was great and people were still enjoying the water as you will see but we just received notice of a swimming advisory for our area at 4:45 pm. The beaches are still open to sun bathe, walk, search for shells but you are discouraged from swimming at this time. We will let you know when this advisory is lifted.

  • it doesn't matter when the fishing advisory is lifted the oil and chemicals will still be in the fish just like the mercury. you can pretty much kiss sea food good bye. tuna from alaska migrate to the gulf. so don't think because it wasn't caught in the gulf that it's safe.
