Take a peek into the jewellery shops that are awash in gold.
Location
Chandni Chowk
I am at Chandni Chowk, a market once built for Shah Jahan's daughter. Chandni Chowk has always been famous for its gold. Though this street is always busy, it becomes chaotic during festivals. People from all across the country come here to shop for their wedding gold jewelry.
India has a historic fascination with gold; the country is the largest consumer of gold in the world. Gold is a symbol of wealth and stability for a family. Gold ornaments, worth thousands of dollars are exchanged during weddings. You could never guess that these buildings could have gold worth millions locked somewhere.
If you want to buy some invaluable jewelry, this is the place. And remember, all that glitters is not gold, so check your reliable sources. Keep in mind, the gold is sold by weight out here and the craft is less valuable than the volume. I am Ena, showing you Delhi.
