  • I was a personal friend of Bob Weems and spent time in the Press Box at Monmouth. It's a little know fact that Bob was colorblind! Both announcers are excellent. Bob's predecessor was Morris Toby who was awesome!!

  • @joefederico bob weems was great

  • It was a sad day when Bob Weems had to retire due to health reasons. I swore no one could fill his shoes but Larry Collmus does an excellent job, I am 45 years old now and these are the only Monmouth Park callers I have ever heard and I was going there since the age of 11. For those that do not know, MP is located near the Jersey shore in a town of about 6,000 people. It truly is a beautiful track and very family friendly. If you ever get anywhere near Oceanport, NJ you have to spend a day here.

  • I go there often. Gee I never knew they still used binoculars to watch the race! I thought he'd have a big screen with close ups! LOL.

  • Larry Collmus is my favorite! Keep up the good work, Larry!

  • Larry's one of the best.

Read Not By A Long Shot, which covers his career at the otherwise god-forsaken career at Suffolk Downs.

  • Um. Sorry, I still don't see your point.

I was talking about Trevor, and Trevor alone.

  • Trevor Denman and Tom Durkin are the top of the food chain as far as race announcers. Now if you wanna talk about being "original" then here are the best and you can youtube the race that set them apart from Larry C:

Michael Wrona: Itsallgreektome (Hollywood Turf Cup)

Vic Stuffer: After Market vs Lava Man (C. Whittingham) and Runnaway Dancer (Sunset Handicap)

Tony Calo: Both Lost in the fogs races

Now, I have my proof wheres yours?

  • Ew, Trevor? When is the last time he came up with something original?

"He's coming like an express train!"

    "He's being EAAASSED"

    "Ears pricked/cocked!"

    "He's just plain, TOO GOOD"

    Get new lines, Trevor!

  • I enjoy Larry Collmus calling races. He's got a pleasant voice.
