How To Make Old Fashioned Bourbon Pecan Pie!

Ingredients

3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup dark Karo (or sorghum molasses)
2 tablespoons bourbon (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for a booze-free pie)
2 cups coarsely chopped pecans (really just halved will do)
2 tablespoons butter
1 deep-dish 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store bought)

  • @TheSweetestVegan Thanks! Chris especially will be glad to hear that. ;) We tried out the new light kit but switched out the 500 watt bulbs for 100. There's definitely a learning curve with this new equipment.

  • @hilahcooking Oh that's fine. Wasn't my intention to put you on the spot or anything. Like I said, it was a pointless comment, really. I didn't know they kept eggs on the counter in NZ, though.

    And again, nice vid. Never tasted pecan pie, but I think I'll try it now ;D

  • @ghunt1023 Ah! Okay. I say a lot of weird things in these videos and usually don't remember hardly any of it until people call me out on something! ;)

    I was thinking of when I was in New Zealand and a lot of times eggs were just kept on the counter. Not that I think NZ is in Europe. :)

  • @hilahcooking You said something along the lines of "If you're in Europe, you probably don't even keep your eggs in the fridge". Essentially I took an isolated sentence and made a really irrelevant comment on that. In retrospect what I said was entirely pointless, but at least you now know that Europeans keep their eggs in the fridge. So we'd have to take them out to bring them to room temperature.

    I'll be quiet now. :P
