@bartosx Nystagmus as well, jeepers you certainly got it worse than him...his minus six is already

extreme nearsightedness, I saw that in a simulation, but yeh, he has got a blank, fearful, vulnerable look when 'naked eyes', mixed in with squinting in low light. This is as opposed to normal over confident look, his glasses have a magic like effect on him almost, almost like a different face and set of eyes. Of course thats why it upsets me, being close to his feelings.

yea i can understand a bit of that. im pretty sure it stands out in pics too. you sound like a good person :). i had to rely on glasses since i was born.. i was too big. 10 pounds and 60cm or more.. my mum always tells me i had the shoulders of a boatworker lol. ive a bit of nystagmus too but people can only see it if they know what to look for.. wich.. 99% of the people wont. you only know it if you got a medical background or in my case if you test it on a machine..

@bartosx (part 2) and of course a strange blank look in eyes as he's obviously but cannot trying to focus his eyes on the camera person.... but this all made me wonder about the psychological impact of this condition when it is severe (or any poor sight issue) because it sure stands out in pics, the diff bettween glasses on and off. Which is why I ask other ppl other than him. He's had to rely on glasses for 20 years, but guess it's not something that some would get used to. I wouldnt.

@bartosx Well, being a strong physique sure is a help, but my partner is gentle 58kg, 5ft9, Asian of slight build and not physically strong, my fear is of hem getting attacked ins treet if he lost his glasses in the assualt, he'd be utterly defenseless. Just hope not! The terror he'd have, I fear myself. Hope I'd be there to defend if ever should occur. one thing I noted in any pics with his glasses off, totally different expression in eyes, a fearful look as opposed to the usual confident..

hehe well im anything but helpless im a 6'6 250 pound guy so yea like most things in life,some things you win some things you loose.. just need to find a partner who isnt nearsighted tho :P..

@bartosx Glad you accostomed to it, I couldnt, and as I say, bad enough to see my partner struggle. I'd be very panicky, partner is afraid of being outside without them, no surprise there. I fear him having accident losing /breaking glasses while out on own, he'd be helpless. Can imagine the awful chaos to lose something, especially if you lost your glasses. It's a shame they you still are only 60% of normal with glasses. I think my partner's vision isn't perfect either even with glasses.

hehe don't feel bad its just something you get acustomed too. I mean its not always easy because im a really chaotic person too so when i lost something it turns out to quite an adventure to get it back haha. But on the other hand there people who have it way worse then i do blindness cataract and other dissease with correction my eyesight is quite good tho.. must be like 60% of what a normal person sees. but for reading.. i cant read with correciton so i always dive into books :D

@bartosx OMG, I feel real bad for you to hear that. My partner is minus 6 or possibly now a bit more, and that is already severe, cannot see anything after 25cm, certainly cannot walk outside without glasses. As someone with 20/20, I find it totally upsetting to see how he struggles just reading his large font phone texts 2 cm away from face early morning without glasses. Got a simulation too. But cannot imagine -11.

Yep what he shows is verry correct i got extreme myopia too -11 and when i dont wear correction i cant see anything sharp after a few meters it just becomes one big blur.

The eye can be conceptualized as a "fixed" box camera. But the reality (experimentally) is that it is not. (Ref: Normal eyes can be made myopic by the forced wearing of a minus lens.) I enjoyed your presentation.
