This documentary is shocking! O_o I knew that practically every breed had some health issues - but I never imagined it was that serious. I assumed that, if things were that bad, people wouldn't just allow it to happen - but they only care about how their dogs look. They don't think about their health, how incredibly sad... Those breeders should be ashamed of theirselves! I'm never going to buy a pedigree dog, I refuse to support that horrible business.

@Maialeen These pigs, like Woordrow the Racist Pig, are swine who inbreed these dogs (as they were) so they can be inbred like themselves. It is applauding to see how these swine who believe in killing their former beauties, wolves. Humanity is a mistake.

@winchesterxwolf Ill tell you why, its because some (most actually) humans think that animals dont have a genetic pool and simply give birth magically! They think that humans are a step above of other living creatures just because of our ability to think/rationalise. Well, animals have a counter for this, which is their '6th sense'..for eg, just b4 the tsunami struck in 2004, who was the first to evacuate? ANIMALS! Humans were just looking at the wave..some of them standing taking photos..

If people use their brains a bit more, it is common sense why siblings (humans) dont mate and re-produce. This will produce offsprings that are retarded or have major health problems. This is because of the chromosomes/gene pool "rules'.

ALL living organisms have this bloody gene pool. So obviously, if any animal/human is in-bred, their offspring will have major health issues or will be retarded. Conclusion: If breeders are to breed animals with their siblings, PLEASE DONT!

@Maialeen OK, but how many ridgeback owners actually use their dogs for hunting! I think the standards should be clarified. That without ridgeback increases the health and well being of the dog.With ridge it makes it a great hunting dog. Maybe having two standards will help the dogs in the long run.
