This is the first 2 cinematics plus a little combat from Black Hole Assault for the Sega CD. At the time, I thought it had some really good animation. Even today, I think it holds up pretty well for its age. I only did the first few parts of the whole story due to some technical difficulties. If the response to this is strong enough, maybe I will do the rest of the play through for the game so the whole story can be watched.

  • Wow I am surprised to see an actual video of this game. Back then I only saw pictures of this in a magazine. Did you know this game was the sequel to the Genesis game "Heavy Nova" ?

  • I did not know that. Thank you. I'll have to check out Heavy Nova.

  • For the record, I couldn't jump when recording this, which is why it looks like I am gimped in these 2 fights. This is also why the movie is cut short because I will never be able to beat the later enemies without being able to jump! So I just stopped playing.

  • If the response is good enough to these two vidoes, I will coax the rest of the story out and get it posted.

  • Wow I finally found the name to this game! I played this way back when it came out but could not remember the name. Thanks for you putting this up.

  • The music for this game was amazing. I used it as the score for a backyard film I did when I was 13.

  • I remember this game being panned, but the only truly poor thing I can think of is the hit detection (you had to be a certain distance, no nearer or further, for punches/kicks to hit). Graphics and music were good, movement was fluid and the environments/stages were varied and changed the gameplay and tactics.

  • Yeah, the hidden pong game was sweet! And in general, the music in this game was epic!

  • yes I remember that!

  • holy shit this game was so bad ass back in the day

  • Anyone ever access the Hidden Pong Game on this game? It was FUN and had a wicked rock soundtrack.

  • I owned this game back then. Never been a huge fan, since it's a little bit repetitive and boring, but the sound effects and music are excellent.

  • Does Black Hole Assault have a soundtrack on the game disc? If so, is there a track that sounds similar to Terminator 2? Maybe it was a different game I was thinking of.
