The College Debate Over Tanning
By: Amanda Stefanik
Four Ohio University women express their different opinions on the controversial topic of tanning in this video.
Tracy, 20, is completely against tanning because her parents have always been against it and have taught her about the risks associated with it. Susan, 19, is an ex-tanner who chose to stop tanning because her grandpa died of melanoma. Bri, 19, became addicted to tanning because she did not want to see herself pale. Brittany, 21, goes tanning five or six times a week, ignoring the health risks.
In this video, these four women talk about when they started tanning and what things influence them, and other women, to tan or not to tan. They also talk about the health risks associated with tanning, and whether or not they think these risks will affect them.
I think women are beautiful with white skin. Tanning is a stupid fade started by Coco Chanel in the 1920s. For centuries women cultivated lovely white skin.
