I can't say enough about this little lens from Tamron. Stop using lenes which sift the aperture over the zoom length. Pros will always use lenes with an apeture of f/2.8 or faster.

  • Well I obviously did back then. But, I haven't used really any UV filters for about the last year or so. Thanks for the comment

  • Could you use this lens for weddings and get excellent results compared to the sigma and canon equivalent?

  • @jonshark1 Well, I suppose you could if you are really on a budget, but I wouldn't. I would invest in L glass. The only reason I say this is because at receptions where light tends to be low, you might find the AF to be a little slow and hunt. But, it could be done and it is certainly a viable back up lens.

  • What's the autofocus like for this lens? I've been reading in several places recently that it's slow on the new version (this version).

  • @elektriksheep in good light the AF works very well and is accurate. in low light it can be a bit slow. not unusable, but slower than you might like

  • That's an awesome price! Id jump all over that if I were you. It is a great lens for a beginner who wants to keep it well into the future too.

  • i'm using Tammy with my 50D and i must say it's really great. The AF is bit slower than Canon USM system but i don't mind. Sharpness, colors, bokeh it's all fantastic with this lens and the best thing is price!

Canon please stop being so expensive... ;)

  • @Slint1000 Not too sure why you'd start out with a 5D in the first place...?

  • very helpful bro thanks I'm subscribing

  • @jonshark1 Grab yourself a 50 f/1.8 to compliment the 28-75 lens. Cheap and will help you in low light. This is of course assuming you're on a full frame camera. Otherwise, just get the Tamron 17-50 non VC

  • ill get one of this....thanks for the review

  • Great video... I am thinking about upgrading to the Tamron 28-75mm from my 18-55mm canon kit lens. How does the Tamron's autofocus compare to the kit lens. Maybe it's 'slow' compared to a higher end lens, but how does it compare to the kit lens?

  • I never thought that professionals (like you) used UV filter .... and if this lens is so cheap, I certainly would not mount a additional glass.
