Ethiopian social scientist Almaz Tereffe and her husband, Swedish engineer Gunder Edstrom, describe the eco-san toilet in their Addis Ababa home, using their own urine and fecal waste to create a lush garden of flowers and vegetables -- and a powerful lesson on unexpected resources close to home.

  • Evidence that solutions will not come from our political leadership. It will come from the "grass roots," close to the earth. Never fear though, the government will claim all the credit. They can have their credit as long as we may inherit the earth!

  • @birdland5 im glad i finally ran across someone who sees this. Only taking the money away will ever work to make change. We keep them going with jobs, taxes, stores and mortgages. Insted we should buy land with a community land trust, build our own small homes that makeour energy, food and water. Keep our income low to avoid taxes. We will survive and so will the planet. Funny, no matter how much you beg someone to stop exploiting you they just dont quit if we still pay them.
