Forgotten Chapter 2

Hey Everybody,
Here is the second chapter of my new story which i have titled "Forgotten"- simple and clever i thought. Please enjoy, rate and comment. :)

Chapter Two-

The hallways cleared and so did Marly's mind allowing her to come back to her sad reality. As she opened her eyes she fixed them on the other set of feet laying along the hallway floor next to her. They were dressed with brown boots with a slight heel adorned with tiny silver beads.

"We do not live in Texas, Alexis. Why do you wear those boots?" Marly questioned sarcastically towards the lockers infront of her.

Beside her Alexis smirked and replied, "You don't weigh 300 pounds, why do you wear such baggy sweaters?"

Marly looked down at her stomach and turned towards Alexis's linen dress that hung perfectly over her beautifully framed body. She sighed, "I weigh close enough, this kid is going to be a mutant I swear."

"Our baby will not be a mutant Marly. Only a few..," Alexis began but stopped and jumped up on her feet to run over to the locker. She skillfully twisted the lock left, then right, then left again. The rusty orange door flung open causing it to hit the locker beside it.

"Ah yes, only about 12 more weeks left til a miracle is born!" Alexis excaimed as she pointed to a calender taped to the inside of the locker with big red X's through the days that have gone by.
Marly looked at her feet and a wave of confusion, disapointment and fear washed over her. "Yeah twelve more weeks that I have to find a home for this satan baby."

Alexis frowned and laid her pretty but heavy blue eyes on Marly. "Are you sure Marl, that this is what you want? I mean, I know you are young but don't you want to take care of the life you have created?"

A rush of rage engulfed Marly's body and adrenaline pulsed through her veins, "I did not create this. HE did."

Alexis looked over Marly with eyes of pity and sat down beside her putting her head on Marly's shoulder. Her long brown hair flowed over Marly's body like running water from a tap.

"I know darling."

Tears welled up in Marly's eyes as she forced out words between sobs.

" I just want this to be over with, I just want to have a normal life again."

Alexis pulled out her phone from her simple yet elegant hand purse she had matched with her brown boots. She flipped open the screen and looked through her scheduler.

"You have an ultra sound on Saturday morning at 10am, that leaves us the entire afternoon to go to Joanies to look for grad dresses," Alexis said as her eyes gleamed and mouth widened with a smile.

"Ugh I'm a whale. I won't be able to find a dress that fits. Not that I want to go to grad anyways," Marly protested.
"Buuutttt Maaaarrlly.... you have to go! It's our grade twelve graduation." Alexis whined and gave a puppy dog pout.

Marly crossed over her arms in annoyance and then unfolded them again seconds later in defeat after looking at Alexis's face.

"Alright, I'll come shopping with you, but only if you find me the perfect dress that doesn't make my look huge."

Alexis shreaked with excitement.
