Film by Romuald Karmakar on Chilean DJ and musician Ricardo Villalobos which will have it's World Premiere at the 66th Venice International Film Festival, September 8th, 2009.
Shot with official permission at the famous Berghain Club in Berlin (Perlon Night@Panorama Bar, 05.09.2008), at the Closing Partys of Cocoon@Amnesia (29.09.2008), Monza@Privilege (02.10.2008) and SONAR 2006. The film focuses in long interviews with Villalobos on how he thinks, how he hears and how he produces his music.
After the films 196 BPM (2003) and BETWEEN THE DEVILA AND THE WIDE BLUE SEA (2005), Karmakar's VILLALOBOS is the last part of a Trilogy about electronic music and club culture in the first decade of this century.
We see Ricardo@Panorama Bar/Berghain, we hear SUBTELLITE by Timo Maas (Cocoon Recordings)

villalobos isn't for stupid people.

maybe it's because his sound is a step forward from all the minimal "blipblop" hype that you can't appreciate him. he is one of the most talented, creative and original producers of these days. one of the first involved in mixing organinc and electronic sounds together, etc.. perhaps you should watch one of these documentaries before saying such supifercial words.
