Road to Boston fiddle tune. I have also heard this tune played on the fife at Revolutionary War re-enactments. It was used as a march in the colonial days. A catchy tune, it has been adopted in countries around the world where it appears in different versions. Here it is on the fiddle, with a guitar accompaniment.

  • You subbed for my class today, and I must say, this is quite good. I listened to this video awhile back and just realized it was you.

  • @WhatTheStash Thanks for your comment. I really enjoyed being at West SR High today. I took a look at your channel, and see that you have had over 300,000 total video upload views. Nice! Do you know that you may be eligible to get advertising revenue payments from Google (Google owns YouTube now). You just have to sign up for it (free). Do a Google search for YouTube partners. I did, and you can too! :-)

  • @WhatTheStash I forgot to mention that it's best to monetize videos with original content that you own all the rights to.That way you don't run into copyright issues with images, music, software, etc.

  • would this have been played by the British or the Americans, or both?

  • Can anyone out there answer this?

  • Might I ask the Key and the tuning?

  • Tuning is standard GDAE but I was most likely not tuned to 440 pitch. I would guess somewhere close to the key of G.

  • the tune put me in a dance

  • I really like the way you incorporate that "bow-bounce" into your phrasing. It makes those figures sounds wonderfully staccato and clean.

  • @catinnahat It most likely would be played by the Americans as it is also known as the Kentish Guards March,a New England Revolutionary unit from Rhode Island that participated in the siege of Boston.

  • you play it so well! I love how you are so in tune

  • Great!! :)

  • There is no Diff between American and Brit we are both the same. Time to toast a drink with our British Brethren and God bless our Empires!

  • Excellent

  • @zyzor "The Road to Boston", was made the official Ceremonial March of Massachusetts in 1985. It is unknown who composed this march.

  • You play the violen really great!
