One of the greatest bands ever. They have an almost infinite list of well written songs.

An obscure, underrated psych classic, from Something Else.

fantastic song, but i prefer the original mono version. this version is substantially different from the classic version from the original mix. the vocals were originally a two voice harmony and here they appeared to have removed the second voice and quieted down several of the instruments. you can tell when he says "kiss me with one ray of light from your lazy old son", it sounds out of place. oh well, great song regardless, and one of my all time favourites!

I saw the Kinks live in the fall of 1971. They were awesome. Not only did they do their older songs, but they also did most of The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society and Arthur. It ranks right up there with the best concerts I've ever attended. Something Else is a superb album.

Fully agreed - along with IMO The Beatles & Dylan.
I'm not saying I'd like to have been "there" for the '60s but I'd love to be a teenager going through that time now.
My favourite bands not from the '60s are Joy Division, Stone Roses (a worthy throwback, in themselves) & Sex Pistols, but around them & maybe one or two others, I'd say my top twenty would be made up 75-80% of that golden, oh so inventive decade. Nowadays we've got rap & manufactured telly-friendly drivel. Oh dear!!!
